Look after your identity

confidential This week has been National Identity Fraud Prevention Week in the UK, a fact I wasn’t aware of before hearing about it from Josh Davidson at Fleishman Hillard, the PR agency behind the nationwide awareness drive designed to help UK businesses and consumers protect themselves against identity fraud (which, to my surprise, I learned  is not the same thing as identify theft).

The campaign’s website and blog offer a huge amount of information that anyone would find helpful, either from an individual or business point of view. You can also get tips and advice from the Twitter account and be a Facebook fan.

There’s an impressive list of organizations behind this campaign, from the public and private sectors.

Similar campaigns have also been going on this week in Ireland, France, Belgium (in French and Flemish), The Netherlands and Germany.

Even though the campaign in the UK ends on October 18 (that’s tomorrow), you can take advantage of the campaign’s tips and tricks all the time.
