Melcrum and ipadio: Building buzz for SCM UK

SCM-2009 If you’re thinking about going to Melcrum’s Strategic Communication Management Summit in London next month, here’s something extra that will add some dimension to your pre-event experience – short exclusive audio interviews with the speakers.

Content you can’t get anywhere else.

Melcrum and ipadio, the live streaming phone service (who also do a nifty iPhone app), have got together to enable the speakers to talk a little about their particular sessions, focusing on what you can expect by taking part at the conference. Many of the speakers have agreed to take part in a nice personal and informal complement to the formal content you’ll find in the conference brochure and on the event website.

I’ll be doing each of the interviews, working with ipadio to enable the live conversations to happen and then the recordings published on the Melcrum website.

You can hear about why we’re doing this and how it will work in this conversation this morning between ipadio’s Giles Bryan, Melcrum’s James Bennett and me:

Why not listen in to the interviews when they happen? You can ask questions live if you want. The interviews are also a useful experiment to see the role a tool like a standard phone can play in organization communication, eg, in raising greater awareness about an event.

Just keep an eye on the hashtag #SCMuk. For detailed information about the SCM Summit 2009, taking place in London from October 14-15, check the website.

(Disclosure: Melcrum offered me a free place at the conference in return for talking about the event, such as in a post like this. I’m working for ipadio in conducting the audio interviews with conference speakers.)
