One of the volunteerism activities I do for IABC, my professional association, is produce Cafe2Go, their monthly podcast.
It’s a pleasurable task, one that I share with my podcasting partner Shel Holtz, as each monthly show always has content that I find interesting and very useful.
I’ve just published the August episode on the Cafe2Go blog, and this one has a content theme that should be worth the attention of every communicator, IABC member or not.
You’ll hear Julie Freeman and Barbara Gibson (respectively, IABC’s president and current chair) discussing their thoughts and experiences with social media – very interesting insights from the two leaders of a major professional association representing 15,000 members worldwide.
This episode also includes an interview I did with Aaron Uhrmacher, a social media consultant with Text100 in New York, in which Aaron provides some useful and credible advice on corporate blogging including: the most important reason a company should start a blog, examples of best practice, some common mistakes companies make, and how a company can make its blog interactive and participatory.
Head on over to Cafe2Go and take a listen.
