Time magazine just published their latest list of the 50 coolest websites.
They say they evaluate hundreds of candidates, some suggested by readers, colleagues and friends, others discovered during countless hours of surfing.
Many of this year’s choices are shining examples of Web 2.0, Time says – next-generation sites offering dynamic new ways to inform and entertain, sites with cutting-edge tools to create, consume, share or discuss all manners of media, from blog posts to video clips.
It’s quite an eclectic collection embracing entertainment, shopping, news, social networks, gossip, travel, search, and more.
And Time asks: Think we missed one?
Cue “Neville’s List of 10 Cool Websites,” places I think are worthy of inclusion in any subjective list of cool websites.
Not in any particular order, these are among the ones on my current list of cool sites, places I frequent regularly either via RSS or direct visits:
- The World Is Not Flat
- Ritmo Latino
- Presentation Zen
- Creating Passionate Users
- Clickable Culture
- 3pointD.com
- Engadget
- Exbiblio Blog – The Story of a Startup
- IFTF’s Future Now
- Trendwatching.com
The list does change from time to time so it might look quite different as soon as tomorrow.
What’s your current list?
Thanks for the plug, Neville. As you may surmise, I have your blog RSSed, too :)
For music, you can’t do better than pitchforkmedia.com
[…] I’m very pleased to see that Neville Hobson has picked our blog as one of his top ten cool sites of the moment. Just in case you are wondering, I don’t know Neville personally, but I do drop by his blog frequently and sometimes leave comments (but no bribes). […]
As a UK Resident and tax payer – I find these two invaluable:
writetothem.com
theyworkforyou.com
Useful ones, Adrian.
Thanks for that tip, Adam. They have a terribly slow website, though, or maybe it’s the time of day. Either way, it takes ages to load. Don’t have the patience!
Tony, you’re welcome. I enjoy reading your stuff.
We’re honored Neville! Thanks!
You’re my favourite weekend read, Lee. It’s terrific following your travels!
