Spam dunk

While there might be no easy way to combat blog spam in terms of the sheer volume of stuff that comes your way, now and again a spammer/bot does something blindingly obvious:

This was in my comment moderation queue this morning as my WordPress installation is set to put any comment or trackback in that queue if it contains more than one hyperlink. This one qualified!

So I manually marked it as spam. What I want to know is why wasn’t this one intercepted by Akismet?

Wooow how weird, I was reading this article some hours ago and now I’ve just received the same spam message in my moderation queue even though I just like you have Akismet!

It wouldent suprise me if the spam bot got to my site by looking at your “Fighting the copyright thieves” post and then going to lorelle’s post and seeing my trackback and then going to my blog after all I found your site from a trackback at lorelle’s Blog so I guess I had to take a souvenir back from my travels at your blog! :)
