Is the date correct this time?
I’m writing this with Windows Live Writer, the new beta blogging tool launched by Microsoft a couple of days ago.
I think it’s very good indeed. I’ve already tried it out with my primary blog - running on WordPress - and encountered issues with the date/time stamp where a post published fine but with a date in 1999.
I’ve not found any solution in spite of posting help requests at WordPress Support and the Windows Live Writer website.
One suggestion from someone in the Windows Live Writer MSN Groups discussion forum is to change the date and time format in the blog.
Instead of how I have it currently (16 August 2006), change it to an abbreviated format, as in 16-08-2006. My fellow blogger said the change resulted in a post with the corrrect date.
Before I do that, this post is one more little test to see if a post can publish with the correct date and time.
Here goes…
[Post-publish edit] It published with the correct date and time. But I forgot - this blog has a different date/time format than my primary blog in that it is already set up for date/time in an abbreviated format.
To test this properly, I need to change that format here to reflect exactly what it is on the primary blog. Then test again.

That blog shows the date as “18/08/06″ (PHP: j/m/y) which is the default format as set in the theme on that blog (Hemingway). It doesn’t use theloop.php, though, for its date setting. […]
