New FeedDemon 2.7 makes RSS a speed demon

feeddemon-logo A new version of RSS aggregator FeedDemon was released on Friday which I think is an essential upgrade if you’re an existing user.

While new version 2.7 does include quite a few bug fixes and improvements to some functionality, according to the release notes, the biggest benefit I’ve already noticed is how much faster the application is to use.

It’s especially notable when first loading it up when it checks all your feeds for new or changed content.

My perception – it takes about half the time to run through synchronization of all the 600 or so feeds I subscribe to compared to the previous version.

Gone is the spinning icon when synchronizing each feed which seems to be the heart of speed issues in previous versions reported by some users in the support forum. (I never liked that icon so I’m glad it’s gone, whatever the reason!)

If you’ve not yet tried FeedDemon (the best desktop RSS aggregator for Windows, imo), you really ought to. It also integrates with NewsGator Online so you can get the best of both worlds – your RSS content on your desktop and on the web.

And it’s now free so you have nothing to lose.

Give it a spin.
