Windows Vista service pack beta expected mid July

Windows VistaAccording to a number of media reports, Microsoft will be releasing a beta version of Windows Vista Service Pack 1 next week.

Some reports speculate that the actual service pack will follow later this year, probably November.

In addition to the likely fixes people are talking about, I do hope this beta will address issues that I’ve been experiencing.

For instance, now and again, at random moments, the computer will lock up as the hard drive light comes on and stays on for at least 30 seconds, often longer. It’s hard to determine what the problem actually is.

Hearing “just wait for SP1″ from tech people I respect is getting a bit tiring.
