Re Windows Live Writer, I've been switching between this and ecto for Windows. A new version of WLW was released last month which makes this app much better and far more stable than the first release. So I'm increasingly using it as I become increasingly frustrated with ecto and its ongoing bugs. For me, WLW is currently the best blog editor for Windows. No exception.
