This is definitely a first:

A wealthy Iranian-born American woman ventures into space on Monday bearing the flags of both countries on her space suit. Anousheh Ansari, a telecommunications tycoon from Texas, will become the fourth person - and the first woman - to pay an estimated $20m to travel into space.

[...] Ms Ansari says she will write the first blog from space. She says that her ultimate goal is to bring her experience and “the ability to fly to space to more and more people and to inspire young woman and men to go into the fields related to space.”

From a BBC News report. Bold type my emphasis.

First, a NASA astronaut does the first podcast from space. Now a space tourist will write the first blog from space.

Follow Ms Ansari’s journey at Anousheh Ansari Space Blog.
